New School Comprehension Scheme

We are introducing a new comprehension scheme at St Edmunds. The children have completed an online test and been given a ZPD range. We are banding all the school books to match. Children will select books from within their range to read. Once they have read the book there is an online quiz to assess their comprehension. Year six are trialling the quiz next week so we can add an awards element to the new scheme. They have selected a book from their range to read this weekend. Many have selected from the lower end of this range and may have brought home what looks like ‘an easy book’! We have allowed this as their trial but please be assured we have discussed the need to choose from the upper end of the range once we begin the new system properly. That being said, it is important that your child reads the book they have brought home carefully and understands it fully, in order to be able to complete the quiz.

If you have any further questions please ask.
